Dashiell is the son of Pam and Brian Codd, brother to Orsen and Sumner, and companion to family pet dog Cider.  Dashiell was diagnosed with a rare cancerous Transitional Liver Cell Tumor called Hepatoblastoma on March 2nd, 2012.  He battled through many chemo therapies, radiation, and even had a trisegmentectomy to remove the tumor, along with all the miserable side effects that come with these treatments.  Unfortunately, more tumors developed in his liver.  He was immediately put on the transplant list and had a successful surgery three weeks later.  Suddenly the unthinkable happened; the cancer spread to his lungs, which was removed.  While Dashiell was still in Ohio for treatment and recovery with Pam, the rest of the Codd family managed to come to West High's first annual dance marathon on January 20th, 2013 to provide some insight on what really happens when a family member receives news of being the host of such a terrible thing.  Despite all the efforts that doctors, family, and friends made, Dashiell had given this battle his last all when he passed on June 17th, 2013.
